The fist-sized heart is a dynamic crimson with dark berry colors, in addition to intense red and blue veins, plus the aorta up top. The heart is stylized and simplified – I attempted to represent the various parts as finest I could while remaining real to the fiber product. I used a method called needle felting to matte down colored wool fiber until it became solid felt, and ultimately a soft but solid mass. No sewing is involved, no glue, no warm water or knitting, just a specialized felting needle, wool roving, and lots of perseverance.
