This pattern will take you through the process and yield a quilt that is roughly 48 x 72 inches. (Once you make the 4-unit blocks, however, you could quickly go smaller with a 48 x 48 inch quilt or larger with a 72 x 72 inch quilt or perhaps bigger still.)

For the smallest size, you will need anywhere from16 – 24 fat quarters – depending upon the number of colors/ prints you would like in your quilt – for the quarter circles and 2 1/2 yards background material
added material:
2 1/2 backyards (or more depending on your completed size) of material for the back
and 1/2 yard of fabric for the binding
2 yards of batting
