My Best Chicken And Rice In Wine
About This Recipe
“Easy to make. A good mixture of flavors. One of our favorites. This is from Pierre Franey, my favorite chef. If you like you can add a bay leaf with the mushrooms.”

“Great! This is real comfort food. Really a great combination of flavors. I didn’t have white wine so I used Marsala (every good Italian lady has Marsala in the house). I also added some finely shredded asiago cheese just befor serving. The family loved it. I will be making this again soon.”
“This is a simple & delicious one skillet meal.I used about 1 1/2 pds of chicken tenders, not breasts; added extra garlic; added capers at the the end for a little twist.I also sprinkled with parmesan cheese before serving. The taste was even better today, DH said, since he stole the leftovers! Served with a green salad and garlic bread. Thanks MizzNezz for passing this one on.”
“My husband liked this more than I did.He, the French husband, said that he would put some French mustard in it at the broth stage, so I will try that to make him happy next time. I also added some shredded Parmesan and parsley to perk it up as it is rather beige when done.Healthy, low fat recipe though.”
“My husband made this tonight – it was very good!”
“I thought this was okay. I followed every direction and ingredient, using brown rice. I found the flavor of the dish not as stunning as I had hoped. All my ingredients were fresh. I was anticipating something a little more flavorful.”
“Very simple, but quite delicious!I poached my chicken in broth and butter and shredded it.Fabulous!”
“I made this last night with one small change- I used pork chops that I had pounded nice & thin. This made for a super moist & tasty pork chop. I did also sub minced shallots for the minced onion and I added a tiny bit of butter to the chicken broth & wine sauce. I will definately make this again- thanks so much for posting it.”
“Wonderful, by far the best Chicken & rice recipe I have found.Cooked it in an electric skillet, added a 1/4 cup more stock,a bit more wine and garlic (personal taste).Put in some parsley (fresh out of the garden) at the last minute. This is a keeper, will also try with pork chops.”
“So Easy to make and wonderful flavor. My whole family loved it.I did not need to change a thing.”
“DH and I absolutely LOVED this chicken recipe! I used olive oil instead of butter, and used brown rice, so I added more water to the liquid, but overall, I didn’t touch the recipe. Thanks for a great meal! I can’t wait to make this again!”
“This was a wonderfully tasty and quick meal. I did up the garlic and added some parsley for color. I also upped the broth about 1/4 c. which I think I would double next time as I used jasmine rice and it could have been a “hair” softer. The chicken was amazingly juicy and tender, and all had great flavor. This a definite repeat, that will be used on a weeknight as it goes together quickly and is very comforting. It is beige, but served with a colorful veg and salad it looks amazing.”
“After spending the whole day at a charity bbq the last thing I wanted was anything resembling beef and grill and this was the perfect choice. This was very easy to make after a long day and tasted great.I had to use vegetable broth instead of chicken as I was out and I doubled the onions and garlic for personal taste.I also added pepper and some parsley.I agree that this is a somewhat beige dish so in the future I will be sure to serve it with some broccoli or another really green dish. Thanks for posting!”
“This recipe has great flavors, and is a healthy, simple and quick meal you make all in one pot!I found it necessary to add more chicken broth while the rice was cooking to prevent sticking, so perhaps my heat was up too high.Like the other raters, I also added some chopped parsley for color, as well as a diced roasted red pepper.I made this a day ahead for company.Stood up well to reheating with a little more chicken broth. Thanks so much for posting!”
“I made this easy dinner tonight! It was very good and fast.I added no wine.I did add poultry seasonings and powered garlic, pepper.I cooked it a little slower than recommended. The rice was very tasty and the chicken you could cut with a fork. Enough for leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Thanks for posting. All on top of the stove…. Lori L.”
