“This is such delicious variation on the standard meatloaf recipe.I love mangoes, so I used Major Grey chutney, which has mangoes, tamarind, etc.I also liked the way the soaked bread gave a smoother consistency to the meatloaf than just mixing in pieces of bread. The only thing I wish I had done differently would have been to make two loaves instead of one.We finished up the whole meatloaf at dinnertime, and DH was really disappointed there was no left for meatloaf sandwiches the next day. Thanks for posting this, Mille!”
“This is a delicious meatloaf – Loads of flavor. I used Major Grey Chutney and Diane Pepper BBQ sauce.A definite do again recipe”
“perhaps I didn’t make this right (I did use only beef and not pork), although the meatloaf tasted great, it didn’t at all hold together. Perhaps too much liquid (sauce/chutney?) or maybe needs an egg? I am not sure I will try this one again.”
“Miller this meatloaf is exceptional, great taste with a nice little bite. I had a pound of each meat in so I doubled the recipe, so I could freeze some. I used quite a hot chutney, “Nana’s mango/date chutney” from India, it was a wonderful choice! Didn’t have any bbq sauce around so I used Chilli sauce, it didn’t detract from the chutney taste, which was good. DH commented that this was better than a 5*, we both loved it, it was a great change from the usual old boring meatloaf! It will be on our menu again and again, thanks for sharing it! Had to copy and paste this cus I forgot to say I just used one bottle of chutney for the doubled recipe, it worked just fine and gave plenty of taste!. â posted Oct 13, 2004″
