  • “I used a 1 lb. bag of frozen green beans, 3 slices of bacon, 1/2 onion, 1/2 tsp. salt, 3 white potatoes quartered (we like potatoes) and a pinch of sugar. I forgot the cayenne pepper and this was still delicious. Next time, I’ll follow the recipe to the letter for even better results. Thanks, Lennie.”

  • “We add Cavendar’s Greek seasoning (about 1 tbsp) when cooking these beans and we use creole salt instead of plain old salt…But we’ve been making these for years!!!!!!!”

  • “Most excellent!! Sure brings back memories of my childhood. My grandmother made green beans just like this recipe. The onion and bacon sure sets off the flavor so much with the green beans and potatoes. Delicious!! I did cook the beans and potatoes alittle longer than the recipe called for. Thanks so much for sharing this old time favorite. “

  • “This was a nice vegetable dish. This was the first time I have added cayenne pepper and sugar to my green beans and potatoes. It added a nicechange of flavor. Thanks Lennie.Bullwinkle”
