Slices of this design can be adhered to flat and curved surface areas – such as fingernails, toe nails, cell phones, wine glasses, greeting cards, scrapbook pages, etc. They have a wide variety of craft and charm uses.
Ways to utilize these Fimo canes:
With Nail Polish:
Brush the nails with whatever color is desired. (Note: lighter colors work much better with the majority of fimo slices.) After the polish has actually dried, choose up a Fimo piece with tweezers, holding the slice as near to the edge as possible. Making use of a brush-on nail glue, add a small bit of nail glue to the piece (use sparingly). Place the slice onto the nail in the position preferred. Wait a couple of seconds, and then make use of a small piece of plastic wrap to press the piece down all the way, sealing the edges of the piece against the nail. Add more pieces as preferred, however stay clear of overlapping the pieces when using polish. When the nail glue is entirely dry, brush the nails with two or 3 coats of a clear acrylic nail polish. (Acrylic polishes work best with Fimo.)
With acrylic or gel:
Use a thin layer of acrylic or gel to the nail.
Apply item and heal the layer according to package directions. Then include pieces of clay nail art as above, bewaring not to overlap the edges of the slices. Pieces can be cut or cut as preferred to attain a clustered appearance by positioning the trimmed pieces so they touch. Lay a little square of plastic wrap over the nail and finger, and press the plastic comfortably around the finger. Place nail under lamp for 1 minute, bewaring to keep plastic wrap snug around finger. Get rid of plastic and continue with adding clear gel or acrylic around and over the slices, paying special attention to the edges and space in between pieces. Treatment and file.
Keep in mind: If preferred, pieces can be gently submitted with a nail file to make them thinner, however make sure about submitting too much or the piece will partly file off. If you make an error in positioning of a slice, you can file the piece off and start once again.
To eliminate slices: utilize a nail file and submit the pieces off. The clay easily eliminates this way.
For decorating items (mobile phones, crafts, doll house miniatures:
1. Glue: you can use the Fimo slices with any adhesive item. Fimo is non-toxic and acid-free. It easily attaches to any surface area with a little quantity of adhesive. Use plastic wrap between the slice and your finger to smooth down the edges of the piece if they are stubborn and do not desire to lay flat.
2. Create: you can embed the pieces onto wet paint, placing them in the wanted place and then allowing the paint to dry. Adhesive may be needed on curved surface areas.
For Making Beads: Slice the walking cane in 1/4 inch thick areas, and after that use a 1/8 inch drill bit to drill holes through the side of the bead.
The Fimo cane will last indefinitely when kept in a cool dry place away from direct sunshine. (Direct sunshine will certainly fade the colors gradually, so using the Fimo slices on outdoor items is not suggested.) All Fimo art is best used at temperatures above 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
Similar to all handcrafted products, little variations could occur in size, color, or design.
