My first recycled sweater skirt was made for my own daughter back in October of 2007. Ever since I have improved the waistband to a turtleneck style permitting the biggest comfort (no bunchy scratchy elastic waistbands!) and the most stretch without sagging. It is used rolled down for a stylish yoga style waist or rolled up for more belly protection on cold days. The turtleneck waistband enables my skirts to double as ponchos! Handmade Pretties skirts will fit kids up and down a couple of sizes so buy one size too huge for the most use.
All sweatshirts utilized to produce this skirt are device washable in cold, so I would recommend hand or machine wash in cold and dry flat. All seams are served for toughness.
