Handcrafted with the greatest quality of dichroic glass layered over art glass, each earring is individually hand-cut from glass sheets and fused to high temperatures to produce the round domed shape. My pieces are fired to temperatures ranging from 1200-1500 degrees, depending upon the appearance that I want to accomplish. Most pieces go through 3-4 firing stages, some much more. I follow correct annealing procedures (cooling of the glass) to guarantee strength and sturdiness, for several years of lovely wear.
Please remember that cams and computer screens can not record the true awe of dichroic glass and some displays might display the colors as lighter, brighter or darker. Color variations belong to the beauty of dichroic glass and modifications take place when light is reflected from various angles; for that reason, dichroic glass is really tough to photograph and most pieces will appear flat in the images, when in fact they have significant depth, shimmer and shine.
