  • “I made this recipe for Christmas and it was great! The red and green coloring also made it festive-looking.I, too, left out the bean sprouts and substituted cashews.Even my picky Mother-in-law couldn’t complain!!”

  • “I deleted the bean sprouts and replaced them with salted cashew nuts…a nice complement to the sweet/sour dressing. Our guests loved it, in my opinion,it deserves a “5-pan” rating. “

  • “I make a very similar salad with spinach, strawberries, very thinly sliced red onion, mandarin oranges and bacon – use any raspberry vinegrette dressing (homemade or bottled)”

  • “well after reading the reviews, i was sold on this rather odd-sounding salad. admittedly, i was a bit nervous while preparing it and found my suspicions of poor taste to be true. the thing was waaaaay toooo sweeeeet, borderline cavity-producing. yet my BF and i sat through it all and managed to find some pleasure in the strange amalgamation of flavors. if there’s an encore (which is doubtful) i will ease up on the sugar as well as the oil.”

  • “love it, but without the bean sprouts.”

  • “After my sister served this salad, I was anxious to make it myself.I served it at a recent home cookout and got rave reviews from everyone.I left out the bacon and added sliced almonds for crunch. The dressing makes it especially delicious.”

  • “I made this salad and brought it to a potluck.Everyone loved it!The only complaint was that I didn’t make enough.I followed the suggestion of another reviewer and added cashews (I didn’t have any bacon) and it was great.”

  • “Minus the bean sprouts we adored this salad! So pretty with all the colors, and the sauce was awesome!”

  • “Wondeful salad, had company for dinner for DGS’s birthday and wanted something differant and reflecting summer and the garden I have growing. This was it, used spinach and strawberries out of the garden, and radish sprouts I’d grown myself. It not only tasted great, but was pretty to look at.I did cut back on the oil to 1/2 cup and the sugar to 1/4 cup and that was perfect for us.Served this with recipe#35341 and recipe#68103 and a bottle of Washinton Merlot. What a great summer meal, everyone was impressed.”

  • “This salad dressing was yummy! I replaced the sugar with steviaextract and the bacon with bac-uns and it was soo very good. Great summer salad.”

  • “We loved this dressing!Used Splenda, as usual instead of sugar. We did not use the bean sprouts or grapes or bacon, but with the strawberries and feta cheese and it was great. Will definitely make this again.”

  • “I am very aware of too much sugar in my diet so I always cut the sugar in half when I can. This ended up being perfect for me with half the sugar.I am bringing it along for tomorrow’s picnic.Thank you soooo much for this super salad with two of my favorite things spinach and strawberries!”
