St Patrick was born in Britain around 380. As a teen he was abducted by pirates and sold into slavery in Ireland where his owner put him to work tending the sheep. It was a lonesome job, and Patrick counted on God to throughout this time and developed a strong faith. He left his master and caught a ship back to Britain where he ended up being a priest.
