in 1931 by Oneida’s Neighborhood(Silver )Plate as a stylish complement to its stylish silverware, crystal and hollowware patterns of the same name. Imported Bavarian porcelain pieces of extraordinary quality-hard-paste porcelain formed into carefully angled geometric shapes-e.g. 10-sided polygonal plates-glazed in a luscious ivory cream and cut in platinum Art Deco chevron/ arrowhead-shaped accents(there was also a French version in white, shaped slightly in a different way). The trim and triangular accents look black in a few of the photos, but this is simply a shadow result; the decorations are all a pure glittering, silvery platinum. This is a matched set with differing backstamps; pictures readily available upon demand. Visionary designer Grosvenor Allen patented the design in 1929, and named it after the attractive French resort town of Deauville. Likewise called the Parisian Riviera, this beach-side paradise motivated many others, consisting of luminaries like Coco Chanel, who opened her 2nd store and started her shift from hat maker to couturier there( not to mention her torrid affair with & quot; Child & quot;-RRB-; F. Scott Fitzgerald, who put Tom and Daisy’s honeymoon scene in his book & quot; The Excellent Gatsby & quot; there; and it was almost definitely the basis for the gambling establishment in the James Bond movie, & quot; Casino Royale & quot;!:: Details & Condition:: This 12-piece set features 2 stunning 6-piece place settings made up from the following pieces: * Dinner Plates-10 “diameter [25.4 cm] * Salad Plates-7 7/8″[ 20cm] * Bread or & quot;Dessert Plates -6.25 “[ 15.9 cm]. * Ice Cream or Berry Bowls-5.5” [14cm] * Tea or Coffee Cups-3.5″diameter by 2.25″high

, as there are no chips, cracks, stainings, repairs, etc. This pattern seems to
