Teal and Purple Stars Organic Cotton Batik Tunic Dress by Batikwalla

This original batik tunic top is completely handmade from start to finish. The color is a hand mixed periwinkle purple with a light overtone of tropical teal. The entire design is hand painted with molten beeswax, and dyed in between layers of painting. The final step is to boil the batik clean, which removes the beeswax, sets the dye, and reveals the unique artwork underneath. The texture of the natural fabric is not altered with my traditional batik process.

The soft organic cotton material has been carefully chosen for its quality and strength. Measurements are taken laying flat, not stretched. The fabric stretches comfortably with movement, but does not stretch out. The sizing and shape remains consistent with washing and drying.

Laying flat, without stretching:
Length is approximately 36 & quot; from shoulder to hemline.
The width is approximately 13.5 & quot; across at the bust, 11.5 & quot; for the waist, and tapers out as it descends into a stretchy A-line silhouette over the hips.

The fabric is a medium weight 100% organic rib knit cotton.

This top is reversible, and either design can be worn on the front or back.

Hand washing is not necessary. Best recommendation: machine wash and tumble dry. This will keep it’s shape and the vibrancy of the batik design for years to come.
