Our relationship with ourselves — learning to love yourself — is probably the most important relationship we will ever have. This year we are encouraging the all single ladies to treat themselves; spend the day falling in love with yourself and celebrating everything that YOU are. This year, the 14th falls on a Sunday, which is the perfect day for relaxing and enjoying some me time, or calling upon your girlfriends and trying something new. Here are a few ideas to help inspire you to make the most of your day.

Head to a flower market. When would you ever really actually choose to adorn your home with red roses…never, right! Local flower markets’ hours often take place on a Sunday, and offer the best and most varied selection of flowers at amazing prices. So go on, get creative and treat yourself! Get a big bunch and split them up so every room in your home comes to life with the smell of fresh blooms.

Watch a film in an old picture house. Do some research and see if your town or city has any old picture house cinemas. These little treasures, which have great rosters of old and new movies, are often so pretty and have kept their original features. You also have the option of enjoying luxury chairs and a glass of wine from the bar…bonus!

Brunch with friends. Sunday and brunch are one of the best couples we know, so it’s only right that they are on this list. Perhaps you have a favorite spot, or have been recommended a new one to try? Get your single pals together and book now.

Take a cookery class. Ever fancied learning how to make dim sum? Or sushi? Or perhaps perfecting the art of baking!? There are classes for everything out there, so check out what is happening in your area and you might just discover a new talent that you didn’t knew you had. Plus, you get to eat everything you cook —  yum!

Try a new sport. Our workouts can often be rushed, to slot in to our busy lives. Before work, after work, rushing from the showers, to get ready and out the door, in record time. Today take the time to enjoy the whole process, from picking out your best feel-good sportswear to packing your favorite shower potions. Perhaps book a yoga work shop or an outdoor bootcamp session. Working out releases endorphins which trigger positive vibes. A healthy body equals a happy mind!

Get crafty. I recently visited a ceramics café in London, and had THE most fun. We got to choose what we wanted to paint, from mugs and bowls, to tea pots and large platters. I went for two egg cups and couldn’t believe how into it I got. I remember how therapeutic painting was, and was so proud of the finished item. Check out what’s going on in your area. Next on my list is a calligraphy class!
