Toy Kangaroo & Joey: KNITTING PATTERN, downloadable file by RianAnderson
5,00 AUD
This toy kangaroo mum has a child joey who is big enough to jump around on his own, but small adequate to be lugged in mum’s pouch when he’s exhausted!
I designed them on the little mob of Eastern grey kangaroos who visit our garden every day, right here in Queensland, Australia. I had to make some adjustments to fact – them being toys and requiring big fat feet to stand etc, not to point out the constraints of knitting patterns.
The toys are knitted on two needles, in a smooth 8 ply/ DK yarn of your choice – I used grey, but fawn colour would be excellent too. You might utilize a reddish brown if you wanted them to be red kangaroos (though reds have fatter noses actually).
They take between 85 and 100 gms of main colour, plus 5 gms pale pink for inside the ears (for both mum and joey together).
Toy – approx measurements
Height to top of ears
Kangaroo mommy: 40 cms, (16 “) Child Joey: 17 cms (7”)
(I put in a few photos of real ‘roos, so you can see how extremely cute they are).
