“These were pretty well received by the family. The texture is what they loved, they had no idea that grape nuts and rice krispies were in it! I coated a couple of the cookies in amaranth grain before baking them and they loved that texture 🙂 I didn’t do the moving of the cookies because one of our oven racks mysteriously disappeared and I didn’t want them sitting out while I moved the rack, but even so they turned out good. Will definately make these again, but perhaps will half the recipe since it made an awfully large batch.”
“Excellent oatmeal cookie recipe Uncle Bill! I did not have exactly 1 cup of quick-cooking oats (mabey 3/4 cup), so I added more rice krispies, and used butter in place of margarine. I did not change oven racks, no need to, as I baked them for 8 minutes in my air-convection oven. This recipe makes a lot of cookies so there is really no need to double the recipe. These are a delicious crispy cookie that goes well with a cup of coffee or tea. As all of your other recipes, this is a keeper for me, I look forward to making these again soon. Thanks so much for sharing Uncle Bill!…….Kitten:)”
“This was the second recipe I tried from your wonderful cookbook, and I got to admit…I have not been dissappointed!!!!I did sub raisins for pecans, because I love raisins in my oatmill cookies.I did wonder about that baking on lower rack and then moving to middle rack….seemed like an awful lot of bother…but it is your recipe and you said do it…so I did…and I will do it again!!!!!Thanks for the great recipe!!!!”
