What I’m Packing For Puerto Rico

In two days, I’ll be headed for the sun, the sand and the sea, and I couldn’t be more excited.

It’s been some time now since the last vacation I went on. Having the opportunity to pack up and jet off somewhere to completely relax and enjoy myself doesn’t come around that often, so I’ve been anxiously counting down the days. I’ll  be leaving the cold in Philly for a warm place that I’ve yet to visit, but have heard so many wonderful things about: Puerto Rico!

Growing up, my family and I would always set aside two weeks out of each year to head to a place where surfing was the main attraction. I can remember packing up our car and watching my dad strap down our surfboards to the roof rack; we’d drive from Florida, up the east coast, to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. As my brother and I got older, we began to venture outside of the States to Nicaragua and El Salvador. Surfing has always been something that brings my family together, but it’s probably been about four years since the last big trip we all took together. This time that I’ll get to spend with them over the holiday in the surf and on the beach takes me back to my roots, and I couldn’t be more thankful.

Check out what I’m bringing along with me below, and for anyone who has ever been to Puerto Rico, I would love to hear your recommendations! We’ll be around Aguadilla and the surrounding areas, so be sure to let me in on your secrets!

Gathered Bralette, Marled Canvas Panama Hat, Astella Shoulder Bag, Mare Slip On Clog, Rounders Sunglass

Packing light is something I’ve yet to master, but a beach vacation is a good time to practice. The essentials –bathing suits, light cover-ups, sandals, sunnies — are all I’ll really need. I love the versatility of the Gathered Bralette. I can wear it on the beach or incorporate into other outfits that I’ll hit the town in.

Gathered Bralette, Double Cloth Boyfriend Tunic, Sahara Coin Choker

Custom Painted Surfboard, Sundial Backpack, Long Sleeve One Piece, River Runs Through It Huarache, Bandit Denim Cutoffs

A good sized backpack is also ideal. Wherever we choose to explore, I’ll need something to keep my camera and lenses in. I love the colorful print and soft fabric of the Sundial Backpack!
