This is an image from a painting I simply completed for a dear buddy in the Netherlands. We both enjoy Frida Kahlo!
I was getting tired though of the lots of portraits of this beautiful artist showing or highlighting her horrendous pain and struggling with her long ago accident.
I opted to paint her pain-free and young before anything happened to her.
I hung her trademark sparrow by a satin ribbon instead of thorns around her neck, flowing blood.
She’s totally free, beautiful, complete of hope and pledge!
