  • Reviews

  • “These shrimp were quick and easy to prepare. The flavor was good, maybe a little spicier than what I anticipated, so be careful.”

  • “Perfection. Following another reviewer, I used crushed red pepper as well. The DH was in heaven and we’ve had it twice in ONE WEEK! Again – perfection. Great for a “different” shrimp recipe!”

  • “Very good…I used crushed red pepper flakes instead of the cayenne and I grilled the shrimp.I didn’t think these were all that spicy until I ate the leftovers the next day. They left a tingle on the tongue.Another delicious way to cook shrimp!”

  • “Easy and great tasting.Loved the sweet/spicy combination. However, I would tone down the pepper next time.”

  • “Husband and I love shrimp and are always looking for new and easy ways to prepare it. We both loved this recipe. It was easy, the spices gave it such a tropical flare. I did use 1 t. salt mainly per husband’s request. Kyle, thanks for sharing this. Delicious.”

  • “It was okay. I used a lot less allspice after reading several reviews. I sauteed them in a cast iron skillet. It was a nice, different recipe for shrimp, since I make it every other week.”

  • “This was ok for my family. I think the allspice was a little overpowering.Quick and easy recipe.Broiling was a great alternative to grilling on a rainy day.”

  • “Really good!I thought the allspice overpowered slightly, so next time I will cut it down to 1/2 tsp.I left out the molasses, since I didn’t have access to any where I cooked this dish.I look forward to trying it again with the molasses for a new depth.Thank you for posting, will be making this one again!”

  • “Made as written. This was “crazy good” according to my wife. Served with white rice.”

  • “Yummy!!! This was really flavorful! I used Old Bay Seasoning instead of the allspice because I haven’t found that spice here yet. Served this with “recipe#41415” the rice part of the recipe and with “recipe#25618″ and we all thought it was a great combo with that Island flair!!!Part 2 rating! I made these again for our New Years appetizers, put two on a stick with pineapple chunk in between the shrimp and grilled them..they were the first thing gone and everyone asked if there were more!! I have to sub molasses with honey and I use lemon juice because thats what I have on hand, but these are definitely something to serve, eat and make again and again!!”

  • “We really liked this one.I made it with white rice and fried plantains (yummy).I didn’t have molasses, but I noticed someone else used honey, so that’s what I substituted. This had a ton of flavor.Next time I make this, I will definitely make a mango salsa to pair with it, and I’ll make twice as much.”

  • “It was good, the thyme gave it a nice flavour. Thank you for sharing.”

  • “Just got done clearing the plates! This was a great dish.I am a major wuss when it comes to spicy food so I don’t even own cayenne pepper.I doubled the sauce to go over the jamsine rice that I made along side, and even the called for amount of black pepper was almost too much for me.This was delicious nonetheless. Thanks!”

  • “Great recipe!I didn’t broil…just used a pan on top of the stove sprayed w/cooking spray.Per one reader, I lightened the cayenne and I’m glad I did.It was plenty spicy for me.My 83-year-old mother doesn’t eat much of anything…but she had THREE helpings!!!It’s the first time I’ve seen her eat well in many, many years!Oh, and I didn’t have lime so used lemon (and a little more than in the recipe just because). Thanks!”

  • “After all of the great reviews, I had to try this!I think the rub was a little too much for the shrimp.Almost to many flavors going on in the rub.I won’t be making this again. Had to try it though….”

  • “This is REEEALLY good!I was tired of the same old garlic shrimp recipe so I decided to come and find a NEW shrimp recipe.I owe a neighbor a dinner and this will be it.Think I will also double the sauce for the rice & my hub mentioned it would be a good sauce on chicken to so I can’t wait to try that. THANKS!”

  • “Very nice. I’ll be making this again.I served the shrimp over brown rice I’d seasoned with thyme, basil, salt, and butter buds. It was yummy as-is, but next time I’ll double the marinade/sauce. Doubling the sauce will be great for serving over rice.”

  • “Awesome!I made this for the first time for a family get-together, along with another type of shrimp. These ones were the first to go, and the ones that everyone raved about.I loved the combination of sweet and spicy.Perfect the way it is!”

  • “I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this yet! This is my favorite go-to shrimp recipe. It’s easy to make and tastes great.I’ve even made the sauce for chicken breasts and grilled them and it was still delicious.I like serving this with dirty rice for a nice meal. Thanks so much for this recipe!”

  • “I loved the sweet and tangy flavor of the molasses and cayenne! We had this with Makoto’s Seafood Sauce (we love to dip), My homeade french fries and sauteed zucchini. This was great for our Saturday night pig-out!YUM!”
