Chinese animal chess for children, vintage game by narceine

This cool find is a vintage ‘animal chess’ game.
It contains 8 pieces each of teal and brown. Many of the pieces have a little wear, both on the front and the back. Note picture number three to see an example of the wear on the piece.
The pictured box has sold, all boxes have some damage in the corners.
I am not at all sure how to play this game, I actually bought it with the idea to make pendants from the little game pieces. I thought to make altered art with the paper ‘board’.
As I am now trying to destash all that I have not gotten around to, I am pleased to offer this for sale.

I only have a few of these, I found them in a obscure store in an off-the-path corner of SF’s chinatown.
