FP Me Stylist Of The Week: LexToribio
FP Me Stylist Of The Week: LexToribio
There are some people who we just instantly connect with. Within the first conversation, something clicks, and a like-minded intuition hints at a budding friendship.
I met Lexi this year on our trip to Atlanta, and just like most of the people we met on that trip, fast friends is what we became. She’s a stylist at Free People Atlanta, and there’s no question why we wanted to showcase her this week as our featured FP Me stylist. She’s got that cool-girl vibe down pat with her edgy and bohemian style, and if you need some hair inspiration, her beautiful blue and teal mermaid locks are sure to stun anyone. During the Atlanta FP Me shoot, this girl showed me all of her secret spots to capture the best pictures. With a blog of her own and a passion for photography, she definitely knows a thing or two when it comes to location scouting in Atlanta. It’s fun getting the chance to re-connect with some of the awesome people we’ve met on our travels through these features, as well as introduce them to you all :). Get know a little bit more about Lexi below!

Where are you from? What is your favorite part about your hometown?
I’ve been around Atlanta all my life. I went to high school in the suburbs, but currently attend Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta. There is never a dull moment in this city and I have met so many great and creative people here. I especially love the music venues that Atlanta has to offer.
How do you spend most of your days?
My days vary. I’m a Journalism student so I have class a couple days a week. I also work at Free People Atlanta. But, when I’m not at school or work I spend my days exploring. I like to visit new places and I love being outdoors, so running, hiking and yoga are things I try to take time and enjoy. Continually searching for anything to shake up routine.
How would you describe your personal style?
I was asked this question at a work meeting once and realized that I had no idea what adjectives to use… It varies because I’m such a mood based dresser, but most days I’m pretty laid back and casual. I also love mixing my feminine and tomboy pieces. For example, a vintage floral maxi with combat boots or a denim jacket.

How did you first get into blogging?
Honestly, I wanted to simply document my style progression. Not necessarily just clothes, but my style of writing, photography, edits, travel, etc. If someone else happens to be interested in it, then I think that’s great!

What have you learned about yourself since starting a blog?
I like this question because it’s something I’ve never really evaluated before. Initially, I thought it was going to be more fashion focused, however that is not exactly the case. I’ve learned that I enjoy photographing my friends and I love showcasing each of their individual personalities. It has also taught me to actually take the time to document things. I can get so caught up in day to day activities, but it’s nice to be able to look back at my blog and remember a certain spontaneous trip or photo shoot.

I first met you on the FP Me Atlanta shoot—how has life been since then?
Pretty great! I’ve been busy with school and work, but I graduate in December and am excited to see what the universe has in store for the future. Hopefully lots of creating, expanding and traveling.

I remember you having some awesome suggestions on picture locations during the shoot, and then I found out you dabble in photo taking as well 🙂 Was this always something you were passionate about?
I only began dabbling a little over a year ago, but photography has always fascinated me. The way looking at an old photograph can bring you to a state of nostalgia, or the way a completely different photo can ignite a yearning for adventure and creating new memories. Personally, I enjoy photographing people and truly being able to capture someone’s mood in that very moment. I certainly want to continue learning!

You have some pretty wicked hair right now which is definitely new since I met you in Atlanta. What inspired you to dye it?
These last few months I have focused on making a few changes in my life. By eliminating things that were suppressing me I was able to really delve into my true self. I have been channeling different creative outlets of self-expression and my hair was just one of the first things I experimented with. You can expect to see some more fun hair changes soon 🙂

What’s one thing you are willing to share with us that most people don’t know about you?
This is probably a boring answer to most, but I love to read. I can spend hours in the literature section of a book store or at home in one of my anthologies. But tangible books only, please! I’ve tried reading “books” on my iPad and I simply cannot do it.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Don’t hold yourself back to keep others comfortable, and never apologize for chasing your dreams.
What does being ‘free’ mean to you?
To me being free means being completely comfortable in your own skin and unapologetically organic. It is feeding your soul in every possible way. It is experiencing life without hindrance. And it is extremely important to me.
’twas a pleasure, Lexi. Thank you!
